the smoke in your lungs make you feel like someone new

rare glimpse of another world

fairground rides from a different realm

the up and over looms above the river

sweeping stars in a midsummer sky

laughing in the face of death

a portal opens when both carriages meet at the highest point

after the up and narrowly before the over

spacetime breaks down

and in that moment, above it all

i swear i have everything figured out

the fayre has been rolling in since 1211

up the hillside, over the gogs

each year the portal grows that little bit smaller

it probably closed by now, for good
